Yes. I had over 120 3.5" floppies of fanfics stored in ZIP files before I gave up on trying to archive and index everything. And that was just anime fic. I still have many, many megabytes of sorted fics in a directory that I retrieved from my last hard drive before it died. I have stuff dating back to at least 1995, good bad and indifferent.

I'm not doing that quite as obsessively any more, but it still gives me access to a surprising selection of stuff.
